Kawagoe,Saitama,Kanto

Do you want to stroll around a Japanese traditional town but no time to go to Kyoto, Nara or Takayama? Just take an hour train ride from Shinjuku to visit Kawagoe.

This small city has another name, “Koedo”, that means a little Edo (=former name of Tokyo). Several traditional “Kurazukuri” merchant houses nearby the symbolic bell tower are lined along the street, where you might enjoy eating and shopping. There are also quite a few temples and shrines in the area, as well as a part of Kawagoe Castle, the old residence of the Lord.

Maxim Travelers offer a guided day trip to Kawagoe, “KAWAGOE “KOEDO” WALKING”. Please contact for the detail.
