June is the month of Ajisai flowers ( bigleaf hydrangea ) in Japan.
A very famous temple for the flower is in Kamakura but if you don’t like a tourism spot with a crowd of sightseers, a quiet temple in a residential area of Kawasaki may be worth a visit. Myorakuji is a small temple with less visitors but still you can enjoy beautiful Ajisai flowers therein.
I like the cozy setting of temple complex among the flower field. Throw a coin into an offertory box of one of the buildings and you will hear a sound of bell.
