Yokohama is the first modern port city in Japan opened to the world in July 1859 after the long-year national isolation. It therefore is the birthplace of many “Japanese firsts” such as the first railway transport, photography, gas lamps, beer, cocktails, ice cream, jazz, tennis and various other imports.

Yokohama harbor and its surrounding area have a lot of antique architecture, restaurants, classy hotels, etc. all in western style which have been attracting national and international tourists.

Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse is one of the historic buildings beside the old railway that was carrying passengers and goods to/from abroad, but now has turned into a complex where you can enjoy shopping and dining. The old railway road has become a pretty walking path in the Minato Mirai area, where you can find a lot of amusement and entertainment facilities with easy walking access from spot to spot.

Yokohama Air Cabin is an advanced urban circular ropeway connecting JR Sakuragi-cho Station and the center of Minato Mirai, which also offers an opportunity to enjoy a beautiful view day and night.

Last but not least, Yokohama Chinatown is the famous largest Chinatown in Japan with a plenty of Chinese restaurants, grocery stores and other shops. You can find several beautifully decorated Chinese style gates and Chinese shrines when you visit the town for shopping and dining.
Maxim Travelers offer a guided day tour to those who visit Yokohama first time, “FIRST TIMERS’ YOKOHAMA”. We also plan for a tour of your preference in Yokohama and other places. Please contact for the details.
